A guide to led lighting.

These low voltage d.c. LED lights can play an important roll in an off-grid lighting system as well as for emergency use.
LED lights are the most energy efficient lighting available.

Please see the following page for light bulb sockets:

17 DC LED Screw In Lights by Montana Light
by Montana Light , formerly Light It Technologies

On this page we have a wide selection of instock 12 volt and 24 volt d.c.
LED lights with screw-in (Edison) bases - the center of the base
is positive.

All of these lights are made in the State of Montana.

Everything priced on this page is in stock

We ship Priority Mail Monday through Saturday and
UPS Monday through Friday.

All of Montana Light products are protected against reverse wiring by a
built-in diode.

They can be an important part of an alternative energy, remote location,
emergency lighting, recreational vehicle or marine installation.

For information on using these in an emergency situation please
click onto the following link:

When you need a light source that can operate on a small battery
for long periods of time, this is your best choice.

These are the most energy efficient lights available.
In the proper application, LED lights can not be beat.

In an emergency or portable power system these LED lights
have a tremendous run time with very little power draw.
Together with a small sealed 12 volt battery, many of these
lights are well suited for use in a disaster situation.
One thing to consider when purchasing an LED light is that
due to their long life span they should not be looked upon as
a consumable item like a conventional light bulb.

If you have any questions, just call us at (562) 423-4879.

Montana Light

12 volt d.c. LED lamps with regular screw-in base.
These LED lights produce an amazing amount of light for the
power used.
Available in 3, 6, 12, 18 & 24 led models, all using super bright white
led's.
Due to their low power consumption and long life (estimated at up to
100,000 hours) many people use these and never turn them off.
These lamps will focus an even 3 foot diameter light at about 36 inches
from the lamp.
Great for task lighting, the 3, 18 & 24 led models can even be used for
area security lighting applications.

Most of our security lighting consists of Montana Light led's in protected locations
under the eaves. These are connected to a charge controller which turns them
on at night. The amp draw for all of these lights is very low.
Dimensions: app. 2" diameter and 2-1/2" overall length.

Lamp with 6 led's,  12 or 24 volt d.c.

12 volt 6 led light by montan light

Approximate amp draw at 12.5 volts d.c. (we used a regulated d.c.
power supply locked in at 12.5 volts) : 0.034 amp.

Approximate amp draw at 25.0 volts d.c. (we used a regulated d.c.
power supply locked in at 25.0 volts) : 0.052 amp.

Coverage at 36" from front of light is app. 40" in diameter with gradual
     light fall off.
PLEASE NOTE: The 24 volt models should not be left
on when a photovoltaic system is performing a battery
     equalization.
Some customers have their solar charge controllers set to
equalize charge over 30 volts - this will damage the led light
     and void the warranty.

Montana Light / Light It Technologies
High Output LED Lights.

12 volt dc 2.5 watt Edison base led light Montana Ligh

High Intensity 2-1/2 watt / 3 LED Edison base d.c. light.
12 volt d.c. only.

Screws into a standard light bulb socket that has been wired for 12 volt d.c.

Approximate amp draw at 12.5 volts d.c. (we used a regulated d.c.
power supply locked in at 12.5 volts) : 0.231 amp.

Approximate light output is 75 lumens.

The beam is approximately 120 degrees which makes them ideal for
both work and area lighting - a much wider angler than the 6,12,18 or
24 led lights.

These have slightly higher light intensity than the 24 led model and maintains
it over a wider area.

The led's are high output super bright white with a color temperature
of approximately 4000 degrees K.
The light output has a pleasing neutral color.
The leds are backed by a polished aluminum disk which enhances the
light output.
The base is a standard Edison medium base which allows them to be
used in a standard light bulb socket which has 12 volt d.c. wired into it.

These are very popular for use in underwater enclosures such as floundering
lights due to their low power draw.

An energy efficient choice for porch and security lighting when mounted
under the eaves of a house.

For task lighting, whether ceiling mounted or in a flexible arm light fixture,
these are hard to beat.

As with all Montana Light products, these are made in the U.S.
When you compare these in light output, quality and price with the
imported led lights offered today, there is no comparison.

A guide to led lighting.
The following applies to the Light It Technologies led lights.
These are my opinions from having used all of LIT's led lights.
They are very subjective.

The standard 6 led light is suitable for use as a porch light as
well as an  indoor night light.

The 12 and 18 led lights work well for reading and task lighting.

The 24 led light works well for reading and larger area task lighting.

The above lights use super bright white leds which give them a slight
blue cast.
Most people find this a pleasant light source.
Our fax machine is in a cubbyhole where little room light can get to it.
We have an old style 9 led (24 volt) light over it to be able to use the
keypad.
This light has been running continuously for over four years.
We use the 6 led lights in our stock rooms and for outdoor lighting in
porch light fixtures.

The 3 watt and 6 watt high intensity led lights project the light at a
wider angle than the standard led lights.
This makes them suitable for area lighting in applications where
the strong blue cast of the light is not offensive.
We use three of the 3 watt lights for outdoor lighting under the roof eaves.
For the amount of light they produce, coupled with the low power
consumption, they work great.
These are connected to a Flexcharge charge controller and go
on automatically when the sun goes down.

I have tried the new 3 watt warm white led lights and like them.
They are not as bright, and their light output angle is about 10 to 15 degress
narrower than the standard 3 watt cold white lights.
These may pan out as a low power option for indoor area lighting.

The 6 watt / 6 led lights produce an impressive amount of light.
These have cooling vents and heat sinks as the leds are being
driven at a higher voltage.

Always purchase one light and try it in the locations you want to
use led lighting.
As we do not sell anything on approval, don't buy several and
plan to return ones that do not work for a particular location.

The bottom line is that if you want very efficient lighting, and use them
within their limitations, the LIT led lighting is an excellent light source.
If you need to light large areas, you will have to consider fluorescent
lighting and pay the Piper in energy consumption.
There is no free ride.

LED Lighting applications:
Due to their low power consumption, led lights are an excellent choice
where you need enough light to see where you are going (or for security)
but want a low power draw light.
They are also useful in locations where you want them to run around the
clock without needing to turn them on and off.
We have two in our backyard, both are mounted in inexpensive "jelly jar"
porch light housings.
All of our exterior security lighting is provided by these led lights.
The porch lamp housings cost around $ 3.00 at the local home center.
The wire size is very small as the lights pull less than 1/10th of an amp
each.
Many people use them in conventional desk or table lamp fixtures.
They also work well as a night or reading light in recreational vehicles.
