105 Statement of Policy & Warranty/Returns

In the past many people have become disillusioned with alternative energy.
They were sold a bill of goods and led to expect more than was possible.
Our belief is: tell the straight story (it is also the easiest one to remember) and
if the customer buys the product, they will know how to use it and be satisfied
with the results.
Kind of simple isn't it?

You will notice that we do not have a Post Office Box Number - you know where we are by our address.
If you call information and ask for listings under John Drake, both of our numbers will come up.
We do not hide or play games. If you contact the California Secretary of
State to see if we exist, you will find John Drake Services, Inc. listed as
being incorporated and current.
If you contact the State Board of Equalization (the sales tax people
here in California) you will see that we hold a valid seller's permit.
Enough said.

This business is what we enjoy doing (it is as much a lifestyle as a profession),
it also pays our bills.
Happy customers make for a pleasant atmosphere.
And there is no profit in not giving the right product and information the first time.
We have lost many a sale because I would not give the customer the story they wanted to hear.
We do not have a toll free telephone number for a reason.
Many calls are from people who just want information (which is fine,
that is our job.)
I do not mind talking to people on the phone and educating them
(often they educate me), but not on our dime.
Not having a toll free number allows us to keep our overhead low
and keep our prices realistic.

WE DO  return telephone calls, faxes and e-mails.

When you buy from us I will always make good on the cost
of your phone or fax call.
Warranty:
The items we sell are covered by the manufacturer's warranty.
If you have a problem and the manufacturer does not follow through,
contact us and we will join in.

We ship most of our items using Priority mail.
We also offer UPS Ground and Express services.

If there is freight damage, please contact us immediately.

Returns:

We do not sell anything on approval or for you to try out.

Ask us questions and know what you are buying.
We will help you in any way we can.
It is our goal that you be happy with anything you purchase.
If we make a mistake, we will make it right.
WE DO NOT SELL ANYTHING THAT HAS BEEN USED, AS A NEW ITEM.

One consideration, when you deal with people who gladly accept returns (less the restocking fee, of course).
Are you buying something as new, that has been sold, shipped, tinkered with, and returned?

Due to new U.S. Postal regulations we can no longer ship to
an APO or FPO.
Nor can we accept payment when the billing address is an
APO or FPO - as a rule these addresses can not be confirmed.

When you do business with us you will get a square deal and whatever assistance we can give you before and after the sale.
It is our way, better to tell you the truth and maybe lose a sale, than for
you to purchase something that will not do what you need.
If you want a straight answer, you came to the right place.
sincerely,
John Drake II
