31 Water and Air Heating Diversion Loads for Charge Controllers
Wind power and hydro power, as well as some solar (photovoltaic) charge
controllers require a diversion load to accept the power that is being produced
when the batteries are full.

A diversion load will accept and use that power to keep wind and hydroelectric
generators from overspeeding when the power produced is not needed by
the batteries.

With solar - wind - micro hydro charge controllers, like the Flexcharge NC25A and NCHC ,
Trace C - Series, Morningstar Tri-Star and others.
This will allow you to use energy which would otherwise be wasted when not
needed by the batteries.

These loads also work well with the older Burkhardt and Enermaxer diversion type
charge controllers.

Water Heater Diversion Load:

water heating diversion load pad for water tank
Flexcharge water heating diversion load pad for hot
water tanks.
7" by 5".
12 volt / 30 amp / 370 watt
Can be used in series for 24 volt systems.
Can also be paralleled to increase amp ratings.
For use on a Metal water tank with a radius of 10" (20" diameter)
or greater.
The self-adhesive back makes this especially well suited for
use on boats where you do not want to either use an outlet
or make a hole in the metal water heater tank.
These can also be attached to the inside of a Metal boat hull.
The kit includes: diversion load pad, a sheet of sandpaper to
clean the tank, silicone sealer, plastic spreader for the sealer,
wire ties and instructions.

Air Heater Diversion Load:

Flexcharge air heating diversion load
12 or 24 volt diversion load

diversion load  15 or 30 amp diversion load

Flexcharge 12 or 24 volt Air Heating Load.

This load setup has two vitreous enamelled resistors and can be configured
in three ways.
Flexcharge model # RES/DVT24-15

For 12 volts one of the resistors can be used to handle 15 amps - the other
can be used later as your system grows.

For 12 volts the two resistors can be wired in parallel to handle 30 amps.

For 24 volts the two resistors can be wired in series to handle 15 amps.

Easy to install and has protective cage.

Approximate dimensions: 15" long by 4-1/2" wide by 2-3/4" front to back.

Always mount this unit on a Non-Combustable
( one that will NOT burn ) surface.
Air circulation is required to dissipate the heat produced.

Why buy one of these pre-made loads instead of cobbling one up yourself?
By the time you have scrounged up the components and materials - you will
have over one-hundred dollars invested before you start to build it.
